Halloween Faves on Netflix

I love watching scary movies, especially this time of year.  Here are some of my faves that are currently streaming on Netflix.

Not so scary:
ParaNorman
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Goosebumps (a show, not a movie)

More scary (thriller):
Scream 1-3
Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers
The Pact
Zodiac
Children of the Corn
House at the End of the Street
Paranormal Activity 3, 4
Bride of Chucky

What are your favorite movies to watch this time of year?

What have you been watching?

*/*/*/*/*/*
I don't know about you, but I am always looking for good Netflix recommendations.  So, I thought I would share what I watched while I was sick.

Life Happens - Was a cute, cheesy story about growing up. I love Krysten Ritter so I enjoyed this movie!

Hit and Run - Seriously made me laugh out loud and I really loved it. You should definitely give it a go.

The Cabin in the Woods - What in the world??? I do not get this movie. I love scary movies, but what was this? Have you seen it? What did you think?

House at the End of the Street - Good, but not great. I didn't feel like I wasted my time at all.

What to Expect When You're Expecting - This movie made me laugh and I thought it was cute. It was exactly what I expected it to be.

The Secret Circle - I watch and re-watch this show. I just really like it and it feels like fall when I watch it (and that is my most favorite season!).

Do you have any good Netflix (or movie) recommendations?

It's the Weekend!!

(Is this not the cutest print?!?! You can buy it right here)
My weekend has already started out on the right foot!  Husband and I went with a group of friends to see the midnight showing of the Hunger Games!  It was wonderful to see it brought to life. Even though it did not contain the detail of the book, it still captured the emotion (I cried like a baby even though I knew what was going to happen).

Now, tonight we get to see the awesome band Eisley.  If you have yet to hear them (which I take as a surprise cause I have talked about them quite a bit), you should definitely take a listen!

This is one of my favorite songs off their album The Valley!
Ambulance by Eisley on Grooveshark
and this is my all-time favorite song ever by them...
Trolley Wood by Eisley on Grooveshark

It is going to be a fun, exciting weekend!  Do you have anything planned?

I read...
*
After finishing A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway, I jumped right into The Paris Wife.  It was really cute to see how she brought Hadley to life and gave her a voice.  I really enjoyed the book!

Then, over the weekend we watched...
*
I loved the flash back sequences... Seeing the characters I had just read two books about come to life stole my heart!  Certain characters in this movie made me mad. If you've seen it then you know who, but if you haven't then you will quickly figure it out I'm sure!

I am falling in love with 1920 Paris. There were so many talented people in the same place at the same time.  I just want to read all of the writing that came out of that time period... so much so, that I bought this text book.  Yea, I am that kind of book dork. I can't help it, it's nice to be consumed by things sometimes.

It's Christmas Movie Time!

I thought I would share a list of some of my favorites!  You may not initially think of all of these as Christmas movies, but they all include the season :)!!

Home Alone 1&2
Santa Clause 1, 2, &3
Edward Scissorhands (to me this is a Christmas movie not a Halloween movie)
A Charlie Brown Christmas
It's a Wonderful Life
Scrooged (with Bill Murray from the 80's)
Elf
The Nightmare Before Christmas
A Muppet Family Christmas
The Muppet Christmas Carol
Gremlins
Untamed Heart
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (movie version with Jim Carrey, though I love the cartoon too)

Do you have any favorites you think I should watch? I love movie nights, especially in the winter!

This Weekend

We got the Christmas decorating started!
We stayed in and watched movies... it was a pretty rainy weekend.
This movie was kinda sad.  It's not your average love story... I guess it's more of a portrayal of how hard love can be.

It was predictable, but really made me laugh! So I loved it!

Who doesn't love Paul Rudd?  This movie was really cute and a genuine feel-good movie, even at the awkward parts!

Christmas craft madness has begun! DIY's coming soon!!
I also bought these amazingly dorky shoes :)

Hope you had an amazing weekend!

This Weekend

I worked on this bag
We caught up on Revenge...
Anyone else loving this show?

Bought some fabric for a couple random projects!
We made and ate some yummy, but very sweet apple spice cake!
Watched this funny, uncomfortable movie since it was streaming on Netflix (and it had Sophia Bush in it)...
Have you watched it? What did you think?

Also, It was finally cold enough to wear one of my wool Pendleton skirts :).

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

This Weekend

Husband helped me and we covered the seats and finished the chairs!
(Better pics to come when it's not gloomy and raining.  I was just so excited for them to be done that I had to share right away!!)
I love how they turned out, and they fit in the room perfectly!!!  Now to just find some super cute fabric for pillows (these are just place holders)!

We watched
I had to watch it because I love Gilmore Girls, and it was the perfect cheesy romantic comedy!
I really like how the storyline played out.  It was kinda creepy!

I'm a little bummed that it's so rainy today.  I had big plans to take pictures of the stuff I've been crafting lately... Maybe it will be sunnier tomorrow!

This Weekend

We watched some spooky movies!
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.  I really thought Scream 3 was the last one and wasn't sure where they could go from there, but they will definitely keep you guessing.

You can't top this dinner scene (dayyyylight come and me wanna go hooome)!!

We carved lots of pumpkins.
Big mouth was done by husband, the little one was an experiment, the ghost is my little sister-in-law, and I did the kitty!

We attempted the mini pumpkins from the Martha Stewart site, without much success.. these little ones turned out pretty cute though!

Played with my parents new puppy Lucy!  She is adorable and so gentle!

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

We have really been the movie watching couple lately/

Yes... I waited this long to see this movie.  I really liked it, and want to watch it again!  I think it's because I'm a vivid dreamer and it was cool to think about all the layers.

It was just a sweet movie... like watching a Disney movie.

Wow! this movie... I could never imagine... and the ending... I will not watch this again.  If you're claustrophobic I don't recommend it.

This was truly funny! I have to admit that I watched it while playing Scrabble, but I caught enough to want to see it again!

Have you seen Buried?  What were your thoughts?

I'm Excited!

This weekend will be full of....
Croquet! I'm so excited to play. Last week, my dad dropped off the set from when I was little. I spent part of today watching videos on how to play because I surely do not remember.  Plus, I'm not really sure we ever played by the rules anyways.

We've also planned...
A little Nightmare on Elm Street marathon!

Do you have anything planned this weekend?

It was a rainy, gloomy odd weather weekend... so what better to do then watch movies?!?!

Not one of these movies were what I expected... but that makes it all the more fun! I think I may need to re-watch Black Swan. Knowing the ending may help clear up a few things for me.  Love and Other Drugs was not the romantic comedy I was expecting, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.  Limitless was talked up to me by my uncle... I liked it... didn't love it.  Have you seen these movies?  What did you think?

I cannot watch another movie until I get the Nightmare on Elm Street marathon out of the way so I can cross it off my 26 before 27 list!

It's been a little busy...

We've had vet appointments for a sick little kitty (who am I kidding, he's not little... he's 17.5 lbs).
He is on some meds and getting lots of rest in the chair that he has claimed as his throne!  I am sure he will be good as new in no time :).

This weekend....
Friday we spent a little time thrifting while waiting to pick up Ernie (kitty) from the vet.  I found a few things I can't wait to share!  I found more vintage sheets (even washed them) and now there are really no more excuses!!  The quilt must be started!

Saturday we watched fireworks

Finally watched...

We caught up on the first few episodes of Wilfred

Sunday... We spent time with family and got to see Foster the People at night!
We had to wait in a very long line... it was a sold out show...
It was beyond worth it!  Such an amazing show.... words cannot explain!  If you have yet to hear their stuff, you should definitely check them out!

Hope you had a great weekend!

It's been very hot and humid here lately... what better thing to do when it's miserable outside than watch movies?
via
This movie has been in our Netflix queue for a long time.    All I can say is if you love list making you will find the humor in this movie :).
via
I liked this movie a lot.  I have always loved movies that can make your imagination run wild with possibilites (ever since I saw Little Monsters as a kid).
via
Very funny.... which is good cause I barely ever go to the movies and this made it a very enjoyable experience.
via
I wish I would have known about this book.  It seems like one I would have liked to read... it has a lot of twists and suspense.

Have you watched anything good lately?

~Charlie

p.s. I went shopping this weekend....and there was a huge sale......I bought lots of stuff.... ooops! (pics soon).

This Weekend

We went on a pizza date!
Got to witness a really good friend marry the woman of his dreams.... in a dreamy outdoor ceremony.
Did a graduation party thing.
For all of this I forgot my phone at home :(.
So.... No pictures..... But here is a sampling of what I wore to the wedding!

A polka dot dress that I found at Forever 21 years ago, a red clutch courtesy of my mom via 1980, Seychelles button heels (easily my favorite shoes), Wedding day pearl necklace from my daddy, pearl charm bracelet from my mom via 1966 (she got it as a graduation present).

Oh! We did get to finally squeeze in watching our Netflix movies...
This was a very intense movie.  I did get teary eyed at moments, but I must confess that we did watch this way too late at night and I was fighting to stay awake.

It wasn't as good as the first one, but I did enjoy it.  The scenery was beautiful and it was fun to see how the characters grew.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
