Vintage Swiss Dot Fabric

I found a 1/2 yard of each color...  It is in beautiful condition.  I have no idea what to do with it.  I don't want it to just sit around but I want to use it for something perfect!  Any ideas?

Tuesday Treasures!

Husband and I spent a little time thrifting this weekend and I came across a nice supply of zippers... I wanted them all.... But I settled for a handful!

I love collecting printed bias tape... it has endless possibilites and I of course couldn't pass up the lace trim binding!

On Wednesday... ooops.. But look what I found!

A beautiful olive green American Tourister carry on!  This bag is perfect for yarn and crafty things.  The zipper compartment on the bottom is huge and accessible from both sides, I also love that it's a shoulder bag.  Now I just need to plan a train ride to Chicago!

So... why is Tuesday Treasures on Wednesday?  Well I spent yesterday with two of my bestest friends doing fun girly crafty things.  We watched lots of movies, made things with yarn... or attempted to... my hat did not turn out :(.  I even tried my hand at drawing a dress for Joi!!

Of course she helped and directed me in the art of drawing clothing.  It was a lot of fun!!

Buttons... Buttons... everywhere...

My parents are cleaning their basement and my mom found a large Ball jar full of vintage buttons! My mind is racing with all the different things I could use these for!

The set is coming along... My mother in-law spoils me!! She had these in her cupboard and didn't like the fact that these were the only ones she couldn't microwave... So she gave them to me!! Which I don't mind not being able to microwave them since these are going to be my fancy dishes!!! :)

Tuesday Treasures!

I was so excited about this find!  I can't wait to have my set complete and set a formal table with all golden butterfly pattern!!  They're in perfect condition, the pepper was a little dirty but it washed right off!  Someday soon I will have to take a picture off all the golden butterfly I have found so far!

Last night I was catching up on Grey's and I was able to finish my extra long cowl scarf.  I took the techniques I learned doing this pattern to make this cowl, and made a longer thinner version!  

I made it to go with this super sweet leather jacket my dad gave me from the 70's.  I don't have pictures yet but, I will when it comes back from the cleaners!  In the above picture it is wrapped around 3 times... It's so warm and comfy for the lovely Michigan winters!

(Here is what I did... written out the best way I know how... sorry... im still new to this:  Chained 150, joined the ends with a Slip Stitch, Double crocheted 3 rows, Half-double crocheted 1 row, then double crocheted 3 rows, FINISHED! What I used: Red heart Aran Fleck and Aran.  I used two strands at once with 10mm N hook).

Tuesday Treasures!

As I said yesterday, I was able to get a few little things while we were in Allen.  I was able to come by enough Pyrex coffee cups to finish my little collection.... Though I think I might have my eye on another pattern that matches the scheme of the kitchen!!

They were a steal and in perfect condition.  While we were there, we saw a complete set of the Golden Butterfly dishes.... but they were sadly in really poor condition.  Oh well, someday I will have them!

I am starting to get really excited for Thanksgiving!!!  Are you?? I have a million ideas in my head for ways to decorate the table and the dining room.  I am thinking I will have a little DIY to share with all of you later this week... so you can have pretty tables too!!

But now I must be going... I have lots to get ready for tomorrow!  My good friend and I are going to be working on things for an upcoming craft show. I am over the moon about this... it has been along time since we've been able to get our schedules lined up so we can make pretty things together!!

Tuesday Treasures!

This weekend I was able to come up with a few thrifty finds.... The First find is thanks to my lovely sister in-law. She spotted it at a garage sale and scooped it up for me :). (my in-laws are great! They feed my Pyrex obsession!!!)

Golden Butterfly Gravy Boat!!

This is my favorite pattern ever done by Corning Ware... and the fact that you can find it in Pyrex makes it even better!  For those of you who don't know... Someday I want to own enough pieces of this for it to be like my fine china.  (I didn't register for fine china when I got married... never really wanted it).

Pendelton Wool Skirt

I have such a soft spot for wool skirts.... I can never pass up a great one when I see it!  Pendelton's are my favorite.... you really don't want to know how many I own.  But in my defense, I do always wear them to work!  My vintage wardrobe is what gets me through work!! :)

Gray Wool Wrap Skirt

Yay! Another amazing wool gray skirt.  This is lighter than the others I own and is way more full!  I just want to twirl around like a little kid in it!! (the sweater is from anthropology, its a new favorite).

Tuesday Treasures!

I know it's late but it's worth the wait!!! I found this amazing treasure earlier this week and it was only $2.00!!! A medium suitcase and a messenger bag. They are in great condition, just need to be cleaned. (anyone know what to use??)

Tuesday Treasures!

I really thought I would have nothing to share today and then.... I remembered some past finds I didn't share! 

I am in love with this piece it is in perfect condition.... I think I am going to store crafty things in it!

Can you believe these were only $1.00?!?!? (I found these on a thrifting adventure to Ann Arbor).

On that lovely adventure I also scored lots and lots of thread for close to nothing!

I am also slowly catching up on summer camp projects!! I am doing them out of order... but I think it's fun that way! Here is what I am working on tonight.....

All I have to do it sew it and it should be ready to wear! yay!

Tuesday Treasures!

We went to Thomas' side of the family for 4th of July dinner.  It was very nice to spend time with his side of the family and we had an amazing dinner!! Everything was perfect and then it got even more perfect.... my mother in-law surprised me with this little treasure!

Isn't it amazing.... I love it.... three perfect condition pieces complete with lids.... and it's yellow.... I have really been crushing on yellow lately!

Sorry once again on Wednesday... I worked late last night!!

So I thought I would do a Tuesday Treasure of the things I am really wanting!!

I want lots and lots of pretty dresses... A closet full!!

I would love a an to own lots of quilts... and I really want to make my own. I have been thrifting vintage sheets.

This AMAZING! set of pyrex bowls.... I know.. I know... I own a ton of pyrex already but... I love the greens!

They're soooo cute I love them lots!! They fit perfect!! I've already wore the white floral twice :)

This one I couldn't pass up... but it needs a little taking in before I can wear it!

Tonight Husband surprised me with a thrifting adventure to new stores... We found some cool stuff!

Patterns

These were found going through some more of my grandmother's things!! I am super excited to make a few of these.  I think I am going to make the skirts from some great vintage fabric that I found (thanks to her).

Today was also craft day.... Every so often my amazing friend Joi comes over and we spend a few hours doing nothing but being creative.... Today we made these sweet 3D flowers... I love them so much and I can't wait to make them in a million colors :)!!!

Tuesday Treasures!!

Sorry for the lack of posts, but my husband and I took a little mini vacation to the west side of the state.  A picture filled post will follow very soon!

On to the treasure! Today's finds are courtesy of my wonderful mom.  She was poking up in the attic and found her jewelry box from high school.  

I am in love with the bracelet and it is soon to never leave my wrist. My mom said that the wreath-like pin with pearls on it was worn by girls to show they were "chaste". The other two pins are just fun! I love florals :).

Okay she found the little mini owl earring in a box up there.  Yes, it's mine via the 80's (i loved owls even back then).
