Lace Laces DIY

Remember these shoes? I thrifted them not too long ago, but the laces were a bit yellowed and I wanted to replace them. I saw some cute shoes at H&M with lace shoelaces and thought I could do that. Making these were so simple that it is barely a DIY... maybe more of a make it yourself idea!

You will need:
Lace trim
Clear tape
Glue of your choice
Scissors

1. Using your old laces as a guide for length, cut two pieces of lace.
2. Roll each end of the lace very tight. While rolling, dab with a bit of glue.

3. Wrap tightly with tape.
4. Lace your shoes and you're done!

Super simple... now go make them for all your canvas shoes!

Thrifted

Of course I find awesome shoes after writing about how the shoe sections creep me out. I am glad I braved the section because these lovelies have never been worn... and for $9.00, score! I also found the lovely red train case that still has the mirror and the perfect yellow sweater for Spring! Hurry Spring!

Thrifted: Shoes

I don't often thrift shoes... I have only done it one other time and it was for a pair of Bass oxfords.  For some reason, the shoe sections at thrift stores really gross me out. Still, I couldn't pass these up.  I know the Candies are very obnoxious, but for me they are a pair of shoes that I never got when they were cool and so the teenager in me made me buy them! I have yet to wear them, but I think I could totally make something happen... maybe. I am also in love with the Etienne Aigner loafers. They were barely worn, so they need some breaking in, but they're the most beautiful chocolaty brown. They match everything I own and I just love them...a very perfect find.

Current Obsessions

I am seriously in love with this floral pattern that is at IKEA right now! 

I couldn't help but buy a few things... both sets of glasses, a few planters, paper napkins, 2 serving trays and kitchen towels. The colors in this floral print just make me so happy that I couldn't help but surround myself with it... plus it is so Spring! You can find all of the things pictured above here.

These shoes are freakishly comfortable. I tried them on at the store and was really sad to learn they only had the pink ones. Don't get me wrong, their pink color is awesome, but knowing this color existed I couldn't settle. My gift cards came today and I can't wait to order them. I have been pretty obsessed with this album lately. It has literally been on loop for the last few days and it's playing while I write this (judge me if you want) :).

Weekend Snippets

~Seeing Eisley was amazing... they did the perfect blend of old and new songs!

~With all of the crazy weather lately, the magnolia blooms are already falling (last year it didn't even bloom till mid-April).

~ Ernie was very persistant... he got attention this weekend!

~I don't know about you, but every time I see/smell a rose I just think of President Snow from Hunger Games.

~I got these awesome Bass loafers for a steal from DSW. I already love them... sooo comfy!

~On Sunday I went to a proper tea with my sister in-law and mother in-law.  It was a perfect afternoon.

I Spotted a Lot of Dots

On our last day of vacation together, we ventured out to spend some of our Christmas money.  While we were out, I noticed that Forever 21 has a lot of pretty polka dots.

I didn't buy any... that particular Forever 21 is always too crowded, and finding my size is always a task.

I did end up with these lovely shoes from Nordstrom Rack....

My first pair of Jeffery Campbells (for $27.50!!!!) and super cute Madden oxfords that are actually children's (for $16.00!!!!)!  I love shoes... Getting deals on shoes is the best!

Thrifted: Little things!

I know these boots look worn, but when I thrifted them they were brand new... I couldn't wait to wear them! They have become one of my new favorite things!

I love ascots and women's ties.  They can make any outfit instantly more fun.  I know that a lot of people use the pin-on bows... and while I like those too, there is just something special about tying it yourself and hiding it under your collar (to me anyways). I was super excited to find these two hiding in with the belts!

I also found this lovely little piece of Pyrex.  It has been a pretty long time since I have bought any.  I am trying to exercise some self control about adding to my collection.  Right now, it needs to add to an existing set or finish it, or be on my list of non-negotiable patterns. This bowl completes a set for me :)!  I am afraid if I don't control myself, then the house will be overflowing with Pyrex with nowhere to put it.  I don't want to be the Pyrex hoarder!

Happy Mail!

Aside from the occasional good deal, the only really great thing to me about shopping online is getting packages in the mail!  The other day these came for me...

I was anxiously awaiting their arrival because I wasn't sure if I had ordered the right size, and I would have hated to have to mail them back and wait again... But they fit!  Sizing down a whole size was the right thing to do :).  They're so comfy... like walking on clouds. I'm so glad I went with Minnetonka moccasins and not an off-brand. They definitely live up to the hype!
