Fabric Stamping

I thought I would try my hand at fabric stamping since everyone else is doing it!  I followed this tutorial and made another Valentine's pillow.

Some combination of my stamp, fabric and user error caused most of my hearts to only have an outline and still need to be filled in by hand. I could have left the unfinished look, but it would have driven me nuts... I'm glad my first try was on something small! If you're looking for more Valentine's ideas click here.

Another Great Use for Chalkboard Paint!

You can use it to paint glass bulbs... didn't even use primer, and they turned out great! I did use the chalkboard spray paint for this, just to get a smoother finish.  

I thought I would stop by and share this little trick just incase you guys are still making things for Christmas like I am. Why is it such a mad dash every year?  I never learn!

Painted Polka Dot Tote DIY

What you need:

Canvas tote bag, Card Stock, Fabric Paint, Blotter, Circle punch, Tape

1. Lay out your bag and determine how you want your pattern to go. I chose to do 5 circles from the zipper to the bottom. (After thought: If your bag has creases, you may want to iron it a little.  It made it a little more difficult to lay out the stencil).

2. Create your stencil by evenly spacing your circles in a straight row down your card stock. 

I chose to use the 11 inch side of the paper for my bag. It should look something like this. (Minus the tape and paint).

3. Make sure you have a starting point for your stencil.  I made sure  I started mine at the zipper every time. Add some pieces of tape to secure, and begin to apply the paint with your blotter.  Continue doing this until you have filled the bag all the way across. (If your bag is on the thinner side, you may want to put something in between the layers).

4. Let dry and do the other side if you like.

Over the Weekend

We finally found a better way to arrange the living room...

and hung the wall art I made (using this tutorial)!

The best cookie jar ever came in the mail (I have obtained quiet the collection and will share soon).

We hit the Target clearance section and I found some cute journals and pens...

I fell in love with these two books!

Star Garland

While cleaning the crafty room, I found a very large bag of wooden stars (that I don't even remember purchasing... oooops!).

So... I thought, what could be more festive than star garlands?

How pretty... Now where to hang them?

If you want to make these, it's super easy! Paint your stars, add glitter if you like and use a glue gun to glue them to yarn or string... Done!

Busy Crafting!

I will get better at posting every day... I will get better at posting every day... lol I figure if I say it over and over I will get it! I have been very busy working on 30 different projects at once, I can't just work on one thing... I get bored easily :).

I added some ruffles to sweaters I that I didn't LOVE anymore (only ended up with one picture, more to come).

Made some super cute headbands... and I am totally addicted to anything coral colored!

Made the 1st in a series of 3 paintings :). There will be a pear and grape one as well!
