Shop Update

New earrings are in the shop! I feel like getting these listed took forever and ever. The colors were just not working with me no matter what I tried. I love taking pictures, but I think that photographing product is one of my least favorite things to do. Sometimes, before I even make something, I think that maybe I shouldn't because it might be too hard to photograph. Honestly, there is a pair of orange with half lace earrings that are just sitting on my desk because no matter what I did, they turned neon orange in the picture.

Few things make me this frustrated. It's up there with breaking a needle on the sewing machine and a knot in the middle of a skein of yarn! Well, enough ranting about product photography... I could go on all day. If you get a minute, go check out the new earrings!

Bracelet DIY Round Up!

While I was sick I got a little bored... I came across this cover and decided that I too needed an arm full of bracelets!

Remember in high school when it was cool to make your own hemp jewelry? Well it's time to bust those skills back out! I searched for DIYs to make this a reality, and thought I would share what I found with you. :)

Honestly WTF has amazing bracelet DIYs as well as other clever DIYs.
I love this bracelet from One Pearl Button. I haven't gotten to make it yet, but I plan to soon!
Make it and Fake it has a few bracelet DIYs but this one is my favorite.
Because I'm Addicted has a simple and quick bracelet DIY.
I also added a couple of these bracelets that I did a DIY for last year.

Here's what I ended up with... I have a feeling I will be making a lot more!

Have you made any cute bracelets or know a great DIY that I missed? I would love to see it!

Shop Update!

New lace and rose earrings in the shop!
These may be my favorite... something about the half lace that I love!  I added new colors for spring!

If you see a design you like it, grab it... the one you see is the one you get. Since lace is so unique I may not be able to recreate that pattern again!

New rose colors available!
I am in love with the purples.... and all the pastels!! I may have to make one of each color for myself.

As with every shop update, free shipping (everywhere) till Monday using code RESTOCKSALE !!!!

Distracted

I have let myself get a little distracted lately.  Last Thursday, I had my first ever order of initial necklaces.  I was so excited that I wanted to make sure I got them turned around as quickly as possible. So, I kind of dropped everything to get it done.
Here they are all packaged up.  Since this was my first order, I had a fun time trying to create the packaging.
Since I knew she was gifting them individually, I wrapped them and attached little initial cards!  I was able to get them out on Saturday morning :).

Then, I let myself get distracted with a little series called the Hunger Games!  I am currently on book three and every spare second I have had has been spent reading.  I didn't watch TV all weekend.  After I finished book one, I was able to convince Husband to read it.... He is hooked just like I am.

I've also been getting distracted with the lovely weather we've been having.  Sorry, but who wants to be inside on the computer when it's so pretty outside?  Not me! But I am back from my distractions, and I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!!

Have you read the Hunger Games? Did you like it?  I would love someone to dish with!

Leather Painted Bracelet-DIY

Part of finishing my 26-before-27 list was sending packages out to friends.  I decided to send bracelets... kinda reminiscent of friendship bracelets :).  I thought I would share how I made some of them!

You will need:
Suede lace
T-shirt paint
Crimp ends with loop (not sure if that is the technical name)
Clasp of your choice
Pliers
Scissors
(optional) Clipboard - it helped me keep things flat while I painted.

1. Cut lace to your desired length.  Keep in mind that the clasp will add some length.
2. Attach your crimp ends.  You may have to widen them slightly to fit the lace.  Make sure to secure them tightly with your pliers.

3. Attach your clasp of choice.

4. Lay flat (clip under clipboard) and apply your t-shirt paint.  I found that applying it directly from the bottle will give you the smoothest finish.  Make sure to spread it evenly and watch for air bubbles.  Get creative and make fun designs.

5. Let them dry and you're all done!

Make sure you make lots so you can wear them all stacked together... it's super cute!  Even braid a few... the possibilities are endless!

As always, please let me know if you have any questions... and if you make some, I would love to see them! :)

Tuesday Treasures!!

Sorry for the lack of posts, but my husband and I took a little mini vacation to the west side of the state.  A picture filled post will follow very soon!

On to the treasure! Today's finds are courtesy of my wonderful mom.  She was poking up in the attic and found her jewelry box from high school.

I am in love with the bracelet and it is soon to never leave my wrist. My mom said that the wreath-like pin with pearls on it was worn by girls to show they were "chaste". The other two pins are just fun! I love florals :).

Okay she found the little mini owl earring in a box up there.  Yes, it's mine via the 80's (i loved owls even back then).

Tuesday Treasures

Okay, here is the deal... every Tuesday until I get the attic all cleaned I am going to bring you a treasure.  I figure this will help me get it all cleaned out.  They will all be cute little treasures I'm sure, and I am excited to see what great finds wait for me up there.  I know what you're saying...why would I have such great treasures in my attic??? Well that is because I live in the house that my mother grew up in.  This means that yes, my grandparents who survived the depression lived here, and during that depression they learned to not throw anything that might be worth something away!

Today I bring you this cute little set of pins, buttons, earrings, and a ladies hanky.

I am excited to see what else is up there. Hope you have all had a beautiful Tuesday!!
