It has been a very mild winter here in Michigan, and just after Christmas we got our first real coating of snow! It was beautiful, and just after the snow there was an odd, calm little wind and for some reason it was not freezing. I thought it was the perfect time to go out and take some pictures and attempt to adjust to the 50mm lens I got for my birthday.
I am in love with the big pine tree on the side of our house. It holds the snow so beautifully and I am fascinated by it like a little kid. I am looking forward to the next nice coating of snow and exploring some of the trails to soak up all the pretty!

Very cool pictures! It doesn't snow where I live and I don't think I'd be able to stand the cold but it sure is pretty.
ReplyDeleteCharlie, thank you for the beautiful pictures of "my" yard in winter. I am the previous owner of your house, and I planted the blue spruce more than 20 years ago when my son brought it home from the Cub Scouts as a tiny seedling. I used to watch baby birds growing in their nest in that tree, and when the tree got big enough I strung it with blue lights at Christmas time. Glad to see the white hydrangea is still thriving, it is also 20+ years old. :)
