Before the new year, I made this super simple camera cozy because one of my goals for 2012 is to take more pictures of us and our adventures. Over the summer, I converted a purse to a camera bag by making removable foam inserts. Though I like it, it was often times more bulky/heavy than I wanted, and it meant that I had to be using one of a few bags. It just was not as versatile as I wanted, and it lead me to make this. It's not very pretty, but it does the trick. (Yes that cardboard divider should be covered in felt, but I ran out...ooops! Just use your imagination)!
If you would like to make one of these, all you need is:
Cardboard
Scissors
Masking tape or duct tape
Glue gun
Felt
1. Measure for the height and depth of your box, and figure out how long you would like it. I made mine a little longer to accommodate extras. (It is 8.5 inches long, 4 inches tall, and 4.5 inches deep).
2. Cut your cardboard to form the sides. (I had 2 pieces at 8.5x4 inches, 1 piece at 8.5x4.5 inches, and 2 pieces at 4x4.5.) If you want to make a divider, make sure to cut an extra piece.
3. Tape your sides together at the seam, both on the inside and outside. It should look like this when you're finished taping.
4. Use your glue gun and line the inside and outside with felt.
5. You're all done!! Go see how many purses you can fit it in to!!
If you make one, please let me know what you think... or, if you have any other ideas on how to carry your camera with you always, please let me know!!
