Reading...

I am only a few pages in, and it has already grabbed my attention.  I love when that happens!

I finished Water for Elephants and it was amazing.  I really do recommend reading it... it will truly just leave you in awe!  I have no idea how the movie will ever live up to the book.

  1. I tend to not like movies that are based on books, especially if it's a book that I *love*. It seems like there are always changes made to key elements, if not total re-writes of big chunks like the ending. I didn't like book 'Lovely Bones' but the movie adaptation was a total joke, and the movie ending of “The Count of Monte Cristo’ was horrible. Out of curiosity, are there any book-based movies that you do like or recommend?

(Also, I still can't believe that 'Hunger Games' is being made into a movie. It will be a miracle if they can make that into a decent movie and not ruin the amazing qualities in the book!)

  2. Is it bad that the first book to movie I can think of that was done well is... Murder on the Orient Express? They stayed very close to the book and the characters came to life just as I imagined while reading the book.

I often never love the movies as much as the books either, but I try to approach the movie as it's own work of art and remember that this is the directors take on the book. Because everyone imagines a book differently, that is what is so amazing about books :).

I haven't read the Hunger Games... Do you recommend it?
